Pretty empty as usual on a work day morning.
I could practice rolling in from the upper waterfall. Makes it possible to use the two connected bowls through the pipe. I can roll down through the first bowl into the pipe and swirl around in the second bowl and then back. So the speed I get from the two waterfalls is still to high for me. I can´t stop and carve in the deep first pool. Thers is no nice curve to easily carve backside and get the carving going. Have to take the round in the other bowl to lower my speed.
Then I got company and had to keep to the one bowl. Back to what I can handle😂.
But now I tried getting up on the bump in the middle and it worked. Now I just have to roll down again and not jump off.
So maybe this summer will prove to be pushing me forward.
Still possible to skate outdoors. It´s goning to be a very green and warm (appr. 7° C) Christmas. That´s a bit sad. But on the positive side we could skate for an hour i HV. Starting to skate in the bumps. Fun…but backwards is scary stuff.
And we were not completely on our own 🙂
Autumn skate in Highvalley. Last chances before snow and minus!
Now it is not wet anymore. Nighttemp is below zero and days are clear and blue.
My cruiser had to be repaired. The moist was not that good for my bearings. A little bit of oil. Though it made no difference. Still it feels like the speed is to low. Might have to do with where I start. Higher up more speed. But I am so very very cautious.
This weekend I tried to expand my repetoire. Some day I will be able to join the girls at the coldstore, indoor skating.
Back today. Wet, grey and totally empty park. Just me, my two skateboards and a lots of determination. I can do whatever I want so I try the bumps, the pool and of course carving down the ditch in slow motion.
Does not matter if the concrete is so moist since I am VERY cautious.
I am lucky today. I slided down the ditch and managed to curve all the way up to the concrete joint with my upper wheels! What a feeling 🙂 And I pushed four times back and forth in the pool! And I find that especially hard. You have to be give yourself higher speed then I dare. Might take some time to conquer that. But overall success for me. It is fun and rewarding.
The weekend was just truly fantastic. No rain and sunny, even warm…for a november weekend. So I keep on trying to achieve my goal. And that is to carve down the ditch kind of fast and up over the line on the concrete walls.
Skated twice this weekend and even though it was a little bit wet I managed not to hurt myself.
Today the weather was as expected above the 59° even if it still is warmer than usual. It was grey, dark, windy. So I hoped to see the park serene and empty. And it almost was. Just one more soul having nothing better to do on a Monday lunch.
I tried the ditch but it was too wet today. Had to wait for the other guy to leave so I could inherit his spot. I am still not able to go back and forth in the bottom trying to push my self up. So I want to be on my own. I can´t drop in and I am scared of falling. Not fun to practice like three turns in slow motion with an audience! He left at last and I had fun doing my three turns slowly and with great care. It is some kind of pleasing feeling to do something that is hard to learn and something your so unused to. Bit by bit you learn. Satisfying and rewarding.
A clear autumn day is so nice. In this country there are not that many and they do not last long. By three thirty the sun is setting. And the sun never reaches the ditch so it is very seldom dry. And so it is wet today, as usual. It does not stop me from going cruising. Love it. Almost empty!
I felt an urge to skate today. Sun is shining weather is sweet( at least as sweet as an autumn day can be). It is friday morning and I expected to have a dry ditch to myself. Well not…Somehow the ditch was all wet just like the rest of the park. No skating…So I will just cuddle up in my armchair with a warm cup of tea and my knitting. And maybe practice a bit on balancing indoors .
Well now the indoors season has started I wonder what would happen if someone my age, gender and lack of skill turns up at the old men´s (over 30) skate session. Since it is even called old men´s session I might have to gather some courage to try that 😉
